Flame Banners For He is like a Refiners Fire And like launderers' soap He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness. Malachi 3 : 2-3 The Altar of Incense - This altar was to be located in the Temple before the veil that separated the holy place from the "Holy of Holies". Because of its location, it was referred to as "the altar before the Lord" Lev. 16:12. Incense was burned upon this altar twice each day, (Exodus 30 7-8) and upon it was sprinkled the blood of atonement (Exodus 30 10) . (Jesus)? The burning of incense on this altar symbolized the offering up of the believers' prayers. The Altar of Incense in the sanctuary was a type of Christ interceding in heaven. This altar was before the Mercy Seat, for Christ always appears in the presence of God for us: He is our "advocate with the father". 1 John 11:1. And his intercession is unto God of a sweet smelling savor. This altar had a crown fixed to it; for Jesus intercedes as a King. Table of Incense sat behind the Menorah. It was not a little flicker but a roaring fire. God gave orders for the fire to burn constantly and consistently. The cloven tongues of fire that are a gift of the Holy Spirit are to burn consistently and burn brightly in us. Holy, Holy, Holy Revelation
